ROC THE MIC vol 2



on the back: i had to portray 7 african political martyrs,those who had found
for our independance and democracy.
in the final composition, their heads are put on the banknote of THE UNITED
STATES OF AFRICA,an fictionnal state...all this in order to show that the
solution for Africa is Unity and that only people like those martyrs can help
us achieve that goal.

Names of the martyrs (higgledy-piggledy): Thomas Sankara, N'Krumah, Lumumba,
Olympio,Um Nyobé, Franklin Bukaka, Steve Biko

ROC THE MIC vol 2

this is the cover of a mixtape produced by Asrafo records named ROC THE MIC vol
2 and my participation on the project was the illustations.
on the front, i portayed 13 african dictactors around a table just like in
leonardo Da vinci's famous drawing "The Last Supper".on the table i put many
delicious meats and under the table you can see some skulls. all this to show
how african politicians kill their rivals because of greediness. politics is a
dirty game,...it is an original idea of Asrafo records. i'm used to portaying
people but this work was not easy at all because i'd to find the right pictures
and put them at the right position and at the same time make the people behave
like in the drawing of Da vinci.
the colors and the composition were done by Efy Mike Saboutey

step1: i open photoshop ( i've used photoshop cs5 but i could have done the same things in the previous versions ) and then i plugged my wacom tablet ,and start making the rough as you can see it on the picture below. it was quite easy and fast.

step2: i've created a new layer on the top of the last one ,basing on the rough i've drawn the line art and now i can hide the rough's layer.

step3: i've created a new layer below the line art and start my putting colours with the brush  tool . this tool is quite helpful when one use wacom tablet

 step4: i let my inpiration guide me , no more hand drawing i've used photoshop's tools do the rest for me.

toujours "flore à tout prix",pour annoncer qu' une page consacrée à cette BD et toutes les autres dans lesquelles je suis intervenu en tant que dessinateur ou coloriste.

Juste une petite vidéo pour montrer la BD intitulée "Flore à tout prix" sur laquelle je taffe depuis 2010 et qui est publiée dans AGO feuilleton, un mag bd togolais. En ce moment toute l' équipe de AGO média travaille pour sa prochaine sortie en couleur sous forme d'album. Le scénario est de fabrice Alowoé, scénariste et écrivain togolais qui a eu cette superbe idée, et bien sûr les dessins sont de moi. C' est la première fois qu'une de mes BD est publiée donc que les professionnels de la chose me pardonne mes nombreuses erreurs et m' aide à les corriger. merci
